Sarah Nelson – General Manager Operations and Engagement
What one thing you’d like to fix today? Who would you use to fix it?
Equity. I would use closer working relationships between government and industry to ensure that opportunities of all kinds are as accessible as possible. All while wearing local Australian fashion, of course.
Sarah Nelson is SSE’s General Manager Operations and Engagement and has been a crucial figure in the creation of the school. She is responsible for all SSE activities, overseeing communications, marketing, media, stakeholder engagement, partnerships and corporate affairs. Sarah has more than 13 years of local and international experience leading strategic communication and marketing campaigns for high-profile government and private sector organisations.
Sarah worked as an independent business advisor in New York with BASE3D, an Australian creative technology services firm, and spent six years with the $6 billion-plus development of Barangaroo as Marketing Manager for the Barangaroo Delivery Authority. Sarah was the 2017 finalist in “Emerging Leader of the Year” public sector category for the Women’s Agenda leadership awards and 2015 Marketing Winner in the B&T Women in Media Awards. Sarah has a Bachelor in Media and Communications and Management from The University of Sydney and a Graduate Certificate in Policy and Human Services from RMIT.
