Sally Walkom

Sally is the Head of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Investment NSW within the NSW Department of Enterprise, Investment and Trade. In this role, she leads the group responsible for designing and delivering NSW Government programs and services to support and grow entrepreneurship and commercialisation of innovation in NSW. This includes grant and investment programs, training services, events and sponsorship, government start-up and scale-up hubs, and policy and regulatory advice.

Sally brings to the SSE a deep understanding of government’s role and functions to support private investment and industry development, including by supporting the skills pipeline. She has worked for over 20 years in the public sector, including roles in government-owned businesses and NSW Government departments. She has particular expertise in transactions between government and business, including infrastructure development, major asset sales, innovation precinct partnerships, unsolicited proposals, policy and regulation.
