It's all about you...
Anyone can become an entrepreneur; you just need the right skills and support to succeed. That’s where we come in.
Over 10 flexible weeks, Activation will help you understand what drives you and help you harness that drive to build a business – even for an idea you don’t have yet.
Changes in response to COVID-19
To help mitigate the risks to you and our community of COVID-19, our 2020 units will now be fully online. This means our four-day unit intensives will be replaced by a more immersive online experience that will give you greater flexibility and regular engaged support from our facilitators and fellow students.READ MORE HERE

Level up your inner game
Activation is your personal journey through the world of innovation and entrepreneurship. You’ll learn how to apply what you’ve learned at uni and TAFE in any context by starting with a strong understanding of yourself and what makes you unique.
Starting something new is always a labour of love, so we don’t just teach you business concepts. We’ll help you develop your vision, understand your why and bring others along on the journey with you.
We know you live in the real world and so your assignments will be targeted, practical and straightforward. We want you to discover your why, not ask “why am I doing this?”.
So turn a spark into a flame. Whether you have an idea already or are still exploring your niche, learn what drives you, how to pitch yourself and build a startup roadmap to launch a sustainable and scalable business.
Activation is for you if:
- You want to explore the soft skills you need to start a business
- You’re ready to apply what you’ve learned at uni or TAFE in a practical way
- You're keen to meet like-minded students from different disciplines and institutions across NSW
- You want a flexible learning experience to fit around your schedule
- You're currently studying at any of our 12 education partners (11 NSW universities and TAFE NSW)

Why is studying at SSE so great? Click to find out.
Our units are dynamic, collaborative and real-world focused. No lectures, no assignments that make you ask "why am I doing this?", no readings from some 18th-century scholar you've never heard of. You will broaden your mindset and skills by working in inter-institutional, cross-disciplinary teams of like-minded peers from right across NSW. Check out our Studying at SSE video.
We believe in making opportunity accessible so SSE charges no fees for this unit if you're studying it as an extra-curricular activity.
Studying at SSE opens doors. As an alumni, you will become a lifetime member of the diverse SSE community. You'll make unlikely friendships, get direct access to our Brains Trust and have a network of like-minded students from institutions from across NSW to collaborate with.
We've got you covered at SSE. Learning support is on hand as you work through the units online. You'll get timely feedback and run through assignments that make sense. And there will be more than a few surprises along the way.
