On Saturday, Australia voted in its first referendum in 23 years. The vote, to alter the Constitution to recognise the First Peoples of Australia by establishing an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice to Parliament, was resoundingly rejected.
This result does not mean that as a nation, we should accept the status quo or slow the momentum to achieve better outcomes. On the contrary, it means we must work harder, listen to First Nations people more closely, and collaborate more, not less, to lift prosperity and opportunity for all Australians.
We invite businesses, community groups, corporate enterprises, and individuals who share our goals to partner with us in our collaborations with First Nations and other diverse communities.
