Maryam Khajeh Tabari is a registered Australian and New Zealand Patent and Trademarks Attorney, with a Master of Industrial Property, a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Engineering (Hons) and a Master of Biomedical Engineering.
Together with her engineering degrees, Maryam completed a Diploma of Innovation Management, which launched her interest in technology commercialisation and the role in which patents play in getting technologies to market.
In her current role at Chyrsiliou IP, Maryam works primarily in the patents team and has experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications in Australia and overseas.
Prior to joining Chrysiliou IP, she trained and qualified as Patent Attorney at a large Australian firm and has a number of years of experience working in the university commercialisation sector, managing IP portfolios and assisting in the negotiation of IP-led research engagement contracts and licences.
Maryam has also completed her Juris Doctor and is currently the lead lecturer in the patent practice subjects at the University of Technology Sydney, helping to train the next generation of Patent Attorneys. She is passionate about law and technology and was the youngest President of Engineers Australia, Sydney Division in 2011.
