Independent Director
Liane Gawne is an Independent Director on SSE’s Board of Directors. Liane has more than 20 years’ experience in the communications industry, specialising in strategic counsel, crisis communications and reputation management.
She founded public relations and events management agency Sauce Communications in the rural town of Leeton, NSW. Today, Sauce holds eight ‘agency of the year’ titles, including most recently 2019 CommsCon Australian Midsize Agency of the Year.
From startup status, Liane has grown Sauce to include staff and offices in Leeton, Sydney, Canberra and Melbourne. The company specialises in working with government and commercial clients that are based in, represent or need to reach audiences in rural and regional Australia, including the SunRice Group, Australia Post and De Bortoli Wines.
Liane has a personal commitment to regional and rural business, entrepreneurship and the role women play in the sector and is a previous Director of both Riverina Regional Tourism and Riverina Citrus. She has also been a state finalist in the Telstra Business Women’s Awards for the Small Business Owner category and is one of Emerald Grain and Fairfax Media’s Top 100 Women in Australian Agribusiness.
