Dr Sarah Jones (MAICD) FRSN leads a high-performing team to inspire change, deliver impact, and realise SSE’s vision of creating a diverse community of next-generation entrepreneurs, city-shapers, place-makers, innovators and prosperity builders. Her values are founded on a commitment to widening participation, access, and equity, and removing barriers to education and employment for more people.
Sarah has a PhD from the University of Sydney and over 20 years' combined leadership, research, teaching, and strategic operational experiences in higher education and large matrix organisations.
Blending professional and industry expertise with critical pedagogy in her daily work practice, a core aspect of Sarah's leadership style and teaching philosophy is to foster critical thinking, engaged collaboration, and a desire for lifelong learning.
Sarah is committed to supporting and nurturing talent and harnessing the collective strength of education institutions, collaborating with industry, government, and diverse communities to build a nationwide culture of entrepreneurialism and shared prosperity.
In 2023, Sarah was named Innovation Leader of the Year at the InnovationAus Awards for Excellence and was a Finalist in CEO Magazine's 2023 Executive of the Year in the Not-For-Profit category.
