about the role
Reporting to the Director, Marketing and Communications and working within a small team, you will provide expert copywriting services for the promotion of SSE, its programs, brand enhancement, growth and development. You will also initiate, research and produce written content that positions SSE as a thought leader and advocate within our ecosystem, and contribute to growing the audience and positive sentiment for SSE. This includes proactively identifying, researching and writing articles, reports, speeches and talking points to help raise the profile of SSE.
This role is part-time at the equivalent of 2 days per week.
about you
Ideally you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in media, journalism or communications or related discipline.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a corporate environment, writing content and/or copywriting.
- Experience in writing at an executive, government or corporate level, with expertise in preparing articles, briefing notes, submissions and speeches.
- Proven ability to successfully pitch news stories to media, with contacts in news and industry media.
- Demonstrated high-level problem-solving and organisational skills, including the ability to take initiative, independently prioritise competing work demands and an ability to identify and initiate improvements to business practices.
- Demonstrated high-level interpersonal and oral communication skills including the ability to negotiate, provide advice and liaise with a wide range of individuals.
It would be advantageous if you:
- Have knowledge or experience of the NFP sector.
- Have knowledge or experience of a start-up and/or the entrepreneurial/innovation ecosystem.
