Over the last 3 years, Richard has developed skills to grow and an affinity with gourmet mushrooms, their capacity to repair and remediate the natural ecosystem and soil health is unrivalled. Gourmet mushrooms also have tremendous health and well-being benefits that make them an ideal food to produce in the local community.
Richard has a Masters degree in Environmental Management from the University of New South Wales, as well as experience in regional program delivery, including landholder engagement and support, through working as a field officer for the OEH environmental watering program in the Murray Darling Basin.
Richard has a deep interest in ecological restoration and conservation. Outside of professional work time, Richard has free time to get involved in landholder and community engagement initiatives in his local region, including as a participant in local workshops run by Southern Cross University, as a part-time research assistant to a project team investigating landholder engagement in biodiversity conservation, and as a volunteer member of a new capacity-building group ‘Re-power NSW’.
