Supporting the Student Entrepreneurial Journey is a 3-hour NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) Accredited Professional Development (PD) workshop exploring how educators can effectively foster innovation and entrepreneurship among students.

The workshop is designed to equip teachers with the skills and knowledge needed to guide students through their own entrepreneurial journeys, from ideation and innovative thinking through to business planning, helping to ensure they are ready to meet the rapidly changing demands of life and work in the 21st century.

Program Overview

Participants (teachers) will gain a deep understanding of the entrepreneurial mindset and how it can be applied to identify and solve real-world problems. They will learn facilitation techniques to foster student engagement using design thinking and entrepreneurial practice.

The workshop emphasises teamwork, communication, and collaboration, equipping teachers with the tools to create an authentic learning experience for their students.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Confidently implement and evaluate design thinking practices consistent with the Stage 3 Science and Technology Syllabus (Years K-6) and Technology Mandatory Syllabus (Years 7-8) using entrepreneurial practice
  • Explore and assess the key stages of a student’s entrepreneurial journey, from planning to pitch
  • Apply and learn facilitation techniques to foster student engagement using design thinking and entrepreneurial practice
  • Work collaboratively to evaluate design thinking and entrepreneurial project-based learning to promote engagement and achieve an authentic learning experience for students

 

 
Program Completion

Completing Supporting the Student Entrepreneurial Journey will contribute 3 hours of NESA Accredited PD in the priority area of delivery and assessment of the NSW curriculum addressing Standard Descriptor 2.1.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.

Once completed, accredited hours will be logged with eTAMS.

Participants will also receive a certificate of completion and a verified digital credential which they can use on their resume, e-portfolio, and LinkedIn profile.

He facilitates online and in-person workshops that demystify and develop the traits and capabilities required to be a successful entrepreneur and change-maker.
