How did you hear about SSE? What attracted you to the Facilitator role?
I came across SSE through Seek. I was on the lookout for a new challenge within the education section. As a PDHPE teacher, I felt as though I was starting to plateau with my learning in the role and was keen to try something different whilst still being able to create a meaningful learning experience for students. That is something that the facilitator role could offer, hence why I was so interested in applying for the job!
What’s the best piece of advice you have ever received, personally or professionally?
The best piece of advice I have ever received is that in order to grow as a person, I must constantly put myself into uncomfortable situations. It is something I have always done and have found it allows me to improve in a range of different aspects of my life as well as allowing me to maintain my position as a lifelong learner.
How do you stay motivated?
From a young age, I have always had a high drive and confidence instilled in me. I am always super motivated to ensure that I am tackling new goals and challenges both professionally and personally. Ensuring that I have a clear plan set out to achieve those goals and challenges is a way that I find can be beneficial to make sure that I stay motivated.
What do you think are the most needed skills and capabilities at the moment?
I think a personal drive to achieve tasks at a high level is one of the most important skills needed. There are so many things I did not know and have had to learn on the job. However, having that personal drive and desire has allowed me to learn quickly and effectively to ensure that I can achieve any task.
What change do you want to contribute in this world?
To teach students that there are no limits to what they can achieve. As a teacher, one of the most disappointing things to see in a student is their perception of what they are capable of. The biggest thing I would like to show them that they can achieve anything if they put their mind to it.

What do you do to unwind after a long day?
I love coming home and seeing my dog! She just knows how to put me in a good mood any time I see her!
If you could have a superpower, what would it be and why?
Being able to fly would be my superpower. Just being able to visit anywhere in the world without having to wait around in airports or be stuck in traffic would be my dream!
