Students solve real-world problems through Discovery

Our Discovery program is a blended innovation program designed to help students and teams develop sought-after skills in creativity, design thinking, and entrepreneurship. Participants learn and apply entrepreneurial skills to work through real-world problems and collaborate to ideate, innovate, pivot, and scale solutions that can make an impact. The program includes an immersive one-day workshop hosted at Parquetry Hall at the SSE Campus in Ultimo.

We recently had the privilege of hosting a group of students from Hoxton Park High School. Through their participation in Discovery, the teams are working to develop impactful solutions that could provide access to education for young people in conflict zones, decrease the cost-of-living pressures for single parents, and reduce racism in the workplace among others.

“This program is a great opportunity for students. The skills they learn is highly valuable as it is required when they leave school to become independent adults. We are time-poor at school, so this helps us out a lot." – Wendy Huynh, Science and STEM Teacher at Hoxton Park High School.
